What is the purpose of the Degust Explorer Heartbeat?
Degust Explorer is a unique endpoint device to simulate online user tasks and tests.
The Explorer is located at the edge of the network, receives the commands and test sets from the Degust Cloud Systems for execution, and delivers the test results back to Degust.
An Explorer Device must be OK in the online state to receive test requests.
It sends a heartbeat to Degust Cloud Systems once per minute to determine when an explorer is unavailable.
- If the heartbeat fails once, the explorer is set to Warning .
- If the heartbeat stays off for 5 minutes, the explorer enters the Error state.
The state of all explorers can be displayed on the dashboard as a pie chart
or in the Map
The current state of each explorer can also be seen or tracked in the Explorer Lists, in the 'System Information' dialog of the explorer, and the 'Log Book' of the explorer.
The Status of the Explorers can be actively monitored. Degust can send triggers if the Explorer changes its status to or from the Error state. This helps large operations teams monitor the health of their probes.
